Reading and using Two-Lane Weekend means accepting the rules below — the site's, not the highway code's, though we're fond of that one too.

Notes from our drives, not instructions for yours

Every route note is editorial writing about drives we made, offered as general inspiration and method. It is not navigation, not an assessment of any specific road on any specific day, and not a substitute for your own judgement at the wheel. Roads change: surfaces break up, weather closes passes, signs disappear, a lovely lane becomes a construction site. You are the driver — obeying traffic law, checking your vehicle, judging conditions, resting when you need to and choosing what is within your ability all belong to you, not to a website.

Whose words these are

The route notes, illustrations and design are the property of Two-Lane Weekend. Link freely, quote a line or two with credit and a link back, and ask us in writing before republishing a note in full or in disguise.

Fair use of the site

No unlawful use, no attempts to break or flood the site, no bulk scraping by bots.

The limits of a notebook

We work to keep the notes accurate and current and we correct what we get wrong. We can't warrant that every line fits every road, car or Sunday, and, to the extent the law allows, Two-Lane Weekend accepts no liability for harm or loss connected to using the site.

External links are conveniences; those pages aren't ours and we don't answer for them.

Amendments and the mailbox
